Job Title: IT Project Manager [Finance Systems]Location: Nottingham/Remote with occasional site visitsHours/Contract Duration: 3 Months, 5 days per weekContract: Inside IR35The role of Project ManagerOur client, who is an education provider based in Nottingham, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to assist with the migration of a legacy finance system into an existing finance system in the wider part of the business. This is a new project that has arose due to the merger of two business functions, and is expected to be largely a remote role, but with some attendance onsite as and when needed. The contract is anticipated to last for 3 months with some potential to be extended.The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the migration project alongside the dedicated Finance System Team, and will initially be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Capture constraints/dependencies and identify steps which could be implemented early if necessary
  • Build a project plan for feedback and document any risks
  • Present to finance project leadership group for feedback
  • Assist with project communications
  • Set up project working groups and monitor progress against plan/deadlines
  • Escalate any blockages/delays promptly and recording any agreed changes
  • Provide summary reporting in project progress and status to finance project leadership group

About YouThis role will suit a Project Manager who has well established experience in the finance industry, or a good understanding of internal finance functions, and should have a minimum experience of 5-6 years in a client facing project management role. A person who is dynamic, ambitious and keen to add value and make a difference. You must also have the following skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of project management methodologies, processes, and standards, such as Waterfall, PRINCE2, and change management frameworks and techniques
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering large-scale finance management software migration projects
  • Experience around business change and transformation projects
  • Strong communication skills coupled with the ability to work collaboratively and influence stakeholders
  • Strong stakeholder management and business partnering capabilities
