W Talent are extremely delighted to be supporting a leading and highly respected manufacturing company based in Hucknall, North Nottingham who are now looking to recruit a Facilities Team Leader and two Facilities Engineers. This innovative organisation is renowned for delivering world-class technology solutions to customers within the Aerospace industry.

Purpose of the Role

The Facilities Team Leader will support the Facilities Manager in leading a team responsible for site services, including facility technicians, the hygiene team, and contracted site security across two locations. This role involves managing teams at an operational level to ensure facility preservation, planned maintenance, site cleanliness, and total site security.

The successful candidate will ensure Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E), Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People are effectively managed, driving continuous improvement in line with the Facilities Manager's direction. The role also encompasses building management, commercial contract management, and ensuring compliance with legislation and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate the facilities technicians, hygiene team, and site security to deliver the highest standard of site services.
  • Monitor staff performance, conduct performance reviews, and provide training and coaching as needed.
  • Conduct root cause analysis where appropriate to resolve issues effectively.
  • Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture across both sites.
  • Assist with risk assessments, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and implementing necessary control measures.
  • Supervise and support activities undertaken by team members and contractors on site.
  • Maintain compliance records and ensure adherence to relevant legislation using EAM and other IT systems.
  • Plan and coordinate site installations and refurbishments alongside the Facilities Manager.
  • Inspect building infrastructure to identify repair or renovation needs.
  • Monitor site utility consumption and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Oversee site security, waste disposal, and parking arrangements.
  • Monitor sickness and absence levels within the department, reporting concerns to management.
  • Undertake relevant training initiatives for personal and professional development.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure adherence to health and safety policies.
  • Take responsibility for site security, including fire and burglar alarm systems.
  • Establish and support out-of-hours contact arrangements for employees and contractors.

Key Competencies

  • Relevant qualification (NEBOSH, IWFM, BIFM) or significant experience in a similar role (building management or building services).
  • Strong understanding of legal compliance and building maintenance.
  • Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) awareness.
  • Experience in managing short- to mid-term commercial contracts.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop teams.
  • Experience managing teams and driving performance.
  • Understanding of KPIs and their impact on business performance.
  • Proficiency in using CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems).
  • Business-wide awareness, ensuring KPI alignment with overall company objectives.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and drive plans to meet KPIs.
  • Basic understanding of data analysis.
