The Flavour Network has partnered with a leading pet food business to find an experienced Automation Engineer to design and implement cutting-edge automation systems. This role will involve optimising manufacturing processes, troubleshooting control system issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency and innovation. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience in automation engineering, proficiency in PLC programming, SCADA systems, and industrial control systems, and a hands-on, problem-solving approach. Responsibilities for the Automation Engineer Role:
- Lead troubleshooting efforts to identify and resolve automation and control system issues, ensuring seamless operation.
- Design, develop, and implement advanced automation systems to optimize manufacturing and operational processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and maintenance, to create integrated solutions that support organizational goals.
- Oversee the installation, commissioning, and validation of automation systems, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards, implementing protocols for system safety and reliability.
- Stay ahead of industry advancements, researching and applying new technologies and methodologies to enhance automation capabilities.
- Manage relationships with suppliers and contractors to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality equipment and services.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system designs, specifications, and user manuals.
Requirements for the Automation Engineer role:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 4+ years of proven experience in automation engineering or a similar role.
- Demonstrated experience leading automation projects from design to implementation.
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming, SCADA systems, and HMI development.
- In-depth understanding of industrial control systems, including sensors, actuators, and communication networks.
- Proficiency in CAD software and programming languages (e.g., Python, C++) for system modeling and development.
- A hands-on, proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills.
