Overview:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Payments Administrator to join a dynamic team on a temporary rolling 6-month contract, with the potential for a permanent role in the future. This role will initially be office-based at County Hall, West Bridgford, Nottingham, with the option to work from home 2-3 days per week once fully trained and competent. You will be responsible for processing payments to service users and care providers, assisting in the reconciliation of financial data, and maintaining accurate systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Follow defined business standards and processes to ensure efficient and accurate processing of payments and financial tasks.
  • Create, process, and review purchase orders and invoices to ensure compliance with Financial Regulations and departmental procedures.
  • Resolve queries from suppliers, service users, external agencies, and staff in relation to financial transactions.
  • Process payments and recover overpayments from internal carers using bespoke IT systems.
  • Conduct financial assessments for carers who meet eligibility criteria for specific allowances.
  • Provide advice and guidance on payments, financial procedures
  • Ensure the accurate maintenance of manual and computerized information systems, producing financial data, reports, and management information..
Key Requirements:
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills (NVQ2 or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of Financial Regulations and Accountancy processes, including VAT.
  • Familiarity with the Data Protection Act and its application to financial tasks.
  • Competence in using IT systems, including business support packages such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) and finance systems like accounts payable.
  • Strong communication skills, with experience providing information to the public or customers.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when managing financial data.
