We are seeking a Legal Secretary to support the Practice Manager and PA to the Partners in the everyday running of the office.

The role also requires someone to assist with its financial and administrative functions as well as representing the business in a friendly and professional manner. Being the first point of call when meeting and greeting clients in person and over the telephone.

Working as part of a team to ensure the smooth operation of the business.

Duties:

- Process supplier invoices and record in the accounts system

- Handle delivered bills and receipts in line with Solicitors Accounts Rules

- Process third-party payments as instructed, adhering to regulations

- Perform bank reconciliations and client-to-office transfers

- Post Land Registry fees and disbursement invoices

- Check and assist with completion statements

- Assist with financial transactions and journal postings

- Assist with month-end procedures and reporting

- Handle accounts queries from fee earners and clients.

- Answer calls, greet clients, and assist with refreshments

- Perform ad hoc office duties and mail handling

- Assist fee earners with file opening, AML checks, and document processing

- Support PA with typing and other tasks

- Manage stationery stock and general office needs

Experience:

- Legal knowledge

- Able to liaise confidently with clients

- Good interpersonal and communication skills

- Microsoft office skills, work, Excel powerpoint etc

- Excellent telephone manner

- Ability to complete admin tasks accurately and follow instructions

- Ability to work on own initiative
