Paralegal Are you a Paralegal looking to further develop your skillset and career? 

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established, multi-location law firm with a strong presence in the East Midlands in its Family Law department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing empathetic and professional assistance throughout their case
  • Document Preparation: Draft, review and organise legal documents such as pleadings, motions, affidavits and correspondences
  • Case Management: Maintain and manage case files, ensuring all documents are accurate, up-to-date and comply with court requirements
  • Discovery Support: Assist in the preparation and coordination of discovery, including organising and reviewing documents, drafting discovery requests and summarising responses
  • Court Filings: File legal documents with the courts, including electronic filings where applicable and ensure adherence to local rules and deadlines
  • Calendar Management: Monitor and manage deadlines, court dates and attorney schedules to ensure timely action on all cases
  • Research: Conduct legal and factual research to support case development
  • Communication: Liaise with clients, opposing counsel and court personnel professionally and effectively
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with attorneys and other paralegals to provide seamless support on family law matters such as divorce, custody, support and property division

About You:

  • Proven experience as a paralegal, ideally within a Family Department
  • Proficiency in legal software and tools, including case management systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • A compassionate and professional demeanour when dealing with sensitive client matters
