Warehouse Supervisor - Permanent FT

£26k - £32k plus benefits, depending on experience

Monday - Thursday (8am to 5pm) / Friday (8am - 4pm)

Adecco Nottingham, are looking for a highly driven and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to manage the daily operations of our clients warehouse with a keen eye on efficiency, safety, and productivity. This role will be reporting directly to the Operations Director.

The Warehouse Supervisor will play a key role in managing the flow of goods, inventory control, and optimising warehouse processes. This position requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of warehouse management, logistics, to ensure that targets are met and exceeded.

As part of your role, the following duties will be undertaken:

* Oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory management, order fulfilment, and dispatch. Ensure that operations run smoothly and efficiently, adhering to strict timelines and quality standards.

* Lead, coach, and develop a team of warehouse staff to drive performance and accountability. Plan and manage work schedules, delegate tasks effectively, and ensure adequate staffing levels to meet operational demands.

* Maintain accurate inventory records through regular audits, cycle counts, and quality checks. Develop and implement inventory control measures that minimize waste, optimize space utilization, and prevent stock discrepancies.

* Collaborate with the logistics team to ensure seamless coordination between warehouse operations and transportation. Support the efficient inbound and outbound movement of goods while adhering to timelines and logistics requirements.

* Uphold a strong culture of safety by ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations. Conduct regular safety training, enforce safe working practices, and maintain a clean, hazard-free environment. Manage equipment maintenance to ensure operational safety and minimize downtime. Delivering a simpler life.

* Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes and systems. Implement best practices to drive efficiency, accuracy, and overall productivity. Work closely with the Operations Director to align warehouse operations with broader business goals.

* Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, productivity, stock accuracy, and shipment lead times. Provide regular performance reports to the Operations Director and recommend actions to address performance gaps or inefficiencies.

* Work closely with other departments, including Procurement, Logistics, and Customer Service, to ensure timely and accurate fulfilment of customer orders. Resolve any operational bottlenecks and enhance interdepartmental communication.

To apply for this role, you must have the following skills / experience:

  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in a fast-paced warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), logistics principles, and operations management.
  • Understanding of stock control and inventory management processes is essential.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Proficiency in using warehouse software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
