To be considered for the role, you’ll require the following essentials:
- Proven experience in a Maintenance Engineer role within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge, with experience working on electrical components such as motors, solenoids, VFDs, and three-phase machinery.
- Ability to diagnose faults and repair complex mechanical and electrical systems efficiently.
- Good understanding of health & safety legislation and food industry compliance.
- Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic production environment.
- Experience working with automation, PLCs, pneumatics, and hydraulics is highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teams.
Within this position, you’ll also be:
- Perform routine planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to reactive maintenance needs across the site.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system faults to minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and food safety standards.
- Maintain, repair, and optimize production machinery including conveyors, mixers, packaging machines, and automation systems.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment to support production growth.
- Identify and implement efficiency improvements to enhance overall equipment performance.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and update logs to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Support production teams by providing technical advice and solutions for equipment-related issues.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior team members to develop their technical skills.

Salary is £40,000 - £45,000
