Our client, the 5th largest global distribution company specializing in Food, Plants, and Pharmaceuticals, is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager. With operations across 7 cold storage facilities and offices throughout the UK, the company is investing heavily in both its existing infrastructure and the development of new cold stores, including a soon-to-be-opened site in the southern region.

The Engineering Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the development and enhancement of cold storage facilities across the UK. Key responsibilities include:

  • Procurement of materials and labour
  • Compiling Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMs)
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations
  • Managing project timelines and programmes
  • Liaising with stakeholders, providing regular project updates
  • Work with external provides and engineering teams

This role will require the Engineering Manager to split their time between the office in Newark and various project sites across the UK, as they will be responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously. The projects range in value, typically around £10 million, and include both new cold store constructions and upgrades to existing sites.

Engineering Manager Position Overview

  • Carry out any amendments or variations to existing projects / contracts
  • Carrying out estimates of projects
  • Review technical drawings and specifications for take offs to create a materials list.
  • Regular contact with clients to keep them updated
  • Producing RAMS and safety documentation
  • Working from the office in Newark with travel across the UK.
  • Overseeing multiple internal projects at once.
  • All projects will be overseeing the companies' cold stores. Including new build, updating and expansion
  • Project will value circa £10m






Engineering Manager Position Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Mechanical/HVAC/Industrial Refrigeration project management role.
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects at any one time
  • Based within commutable distance to the office in Newark
