You will ensure compliance with all environmental, safety and quality standards required. The Deputy Operations Manager will be required to step in for the Operations Manager in their absence.This vacancy is for a full-time position, working five days per week. However, we will consider requests for job shares to suit your lifestyle (working full days).Our promise to you- 25 days’ annual leave (full-time working) plus Bank Holidays- Pension scheme- Life Insurance- Discretionary bonus scheme- On the job training/progression- Recognition- Flexible benefits including high street savings, cycle to work scheme and Gymflex membership- Access to an Employee Assistance Programme and the Best Doctors ServiceWhat will you be doing?- Assist OM in the management of the site safe System of Work- Play a lead role in site Safety forums- Provide leadership, direction, management and personal development to the Operations team- Assist OM in the management of close Operations/Maintenance team co-operation- Play a lead role in the development, delivery, and ongoing review/revision of the facility Operations procedures- Assist OM in strategic and day to day operational management, supervision, planning, and co-ordination of departmental activities- Plan, develop and deliver the Operations/Maintenance/Safety Rules interfaces- Supervise effective plant operation and continuous optimisation of process issues- Prepare and manage contracts required for any external technical support- Work to develop and improve the safe systems of work- Reduce the environmental impact of the operation- Report and investigate incidents, accidents and near misses- Lead operational improvement activities- Identify, quote, tender, plan and manage to completion improvement projects- Prepare the operational strategy- Control contractors to ensure that they operate in accordance with the Safe System of Work- Carry out risk assessments and audits- Manage the day-to-day intake of vehicles- Liaise with the Sales team for additional C&I waste fuel inputs when required- Manage and develop good working relationships with all Input and Output suppliers and contractors- Stand in for the Shift Lead Engineer role if requiredWhat are we looking for?- Previous experience in a similar roleAbout UsWe are FCC Environment, one of the nation’s leading waste and resource management companies.
