Elevation Recruitment Group are excited to announce we are working with a global manufacturer of aerospace components to recruit an Operations Manager based at their site in Nottingham.
As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing facility, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and adherence to the highest quality standards. You will play a crucial role in driving continuous improvement initiatives, managing cross-functional teams, and meeting production targets while maintaining a focus on safety, cost control, and on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities of the Operations Manager include:
- Lead and manage all aspects of production, including planning, scheduling, and execution of aerospace manufacturing processes
- Drive operational excellence by implementing Lean Manufacturing principles and Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives
- Oversee resource allocation, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to optimise productivity and reduce downtime
- Develop and manage operational budgets, focusing on cost optimisation and return on investment
- Collaborate closely with engineering, quality assurance, procurement, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless operations
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of supervisors and production staff to meet business objectives
- Maintain a strong focus on Health & Safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all employees
- Monitor KPIs and performance metrics, reporting progress and recommending actions to senior management
- Identify and implement best practices to increase production efficiency and reduce waste
We’re looking for Operations Managers with the below skills and experience:
- Proven experience as an Operations Manager or in a similar leadership role within complex manufacturing
- Expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other CI methodologies
- Demonstrated ability to manage production teams and large-scale manufacturing operations
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Experience with ERP systems and production planning tools
- A degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred
