We’re looking for a Site Electrical Duty Manager to join a large global team and play a key role in ensuring electrical excellence and compliance across a large world class site in East Midlands.

  • As the Site Electrical Duty Manager, reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will lead and manage all aspects of electrical engineering, including legal compliance, electrical strategy, and robust electrical systems
  • You’ll be responsible for ensuring operations and manufacturing teams meet the highest safety, reliability, and efficiency standards
  • Ensuring all colleagues comply with company policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure safe, efficient operations
  • You will drive continuous site improvement, and nurture a proactive culture founded on accountability

Site Electrical Duty Manager - Key Responsibilities

  • Acting as the Site Electrical Duty Holder, ensuring compliance with the Electricity at Work Act 1989 and other relevant standards
  • Coaching, and developing a high-performing electrical engineering team
  • Lead electrical strategies, legal compliance, business continuity and strategic development of electrical systems, supporting Electrical competent persons covering Site Electrical Maintenance and Electrical Project Engineering against functional Key Performance Indicators which contribute to the overall site performance
  • Undertake the Site Electrical Duty holder role
  • Lead DSEAR Compex assessment
  • Support the Environmental Leader on energy reduction, efficiency, renewable energy sources as part of theEnvironment & Sustainability plan
  • Implementing and maintaining site electrical systems to support business continuity and operational excellence
  • Driving improvements in energy efficiency, sustainability, and renewable energy integration
  • Lead compliance on site, including control of all High Voltage contractors, maintenance of Low Voltage system
  • Lead and maintain systems for regulatory compliance of pressure system (PSSR), LOLAR, DSEAR, LEV’s,Legionella, PUWER, Lead control of permit to work
  • Escalate and communicate all issues and risks to SLT and Group Engineering
  • Coordinate electrical works for significant projects
  • Managing electrical systems maintenance, compliance audits, and risk assessments (e.g., DSEAR, Compex)

Key Requirements - Site Electrical Duty Manager

  • Proven experience influencing and leading electrical engineering teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical systems and utilities in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of legal and compliance standards, including DSEAR and Electricity at Work Act 1989
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to develop and engage teams
  • Time-served Electrical Engineer with a HNC/HND in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • High Voltage Authorised Persons Certificate
  • IOSH Electrical Safety and IEMA Environmental Management qualifications
  • Compex – Responsible Person certification (desirable)
