Your new companyWe are recruiting on behalf of a prestigious consultancy firm known for its award-winning multidisciplinary services. The company specialises in mechanical and electrical building services designs, focusing on reducing CO2 emissions and lowering energy and running costs for clients. They are committed to staying ahead of industry developments and are accredited by Investors in People.Your new roleAs a Mechanical Engineer in the M&E department based in Nottingham, you will:

  • Assume responsibility for individual projects
  • Prepare outline and detailed designs for tender, including specifications and drawings
  • Write technical reports
  • Conduct surveys and detailed calculations
  • Liaise directly with clients and contractors
  • Attend project and design team meetings both in the office and on-site
  • Provide management and technical support to senior staff in daily office operations
  • Engage in continuous professional development
  • Adhere to the company's policies, procedures, and quality management systems

What you'll need to succeed

  • HNC/D or degree in a relevant field (degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years' post-graduate design experience in consultancy or contracting
  • Understanding of current building regulations and the construction industry design and procurement process
  • Familiarity with CIBSE guides
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, IES, and Hevacomp (or equivalent)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivation and ambition to progress
  • Ability to work as part of a team and manage your own workload
