Mechanical Design Engineer

You're a Mechanical Engineer first and a Design Engineer second. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll work on projects from concept through to completion, getting involved hands on with production, product testing and clients - you don't want to just sit in a design office. You will need the ability to juggle several projects at different stages, which will challenge you as a Mechanical Design Engineer. Innovation and quality are at the core of what we do here.   YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES: Mechanical Design Engineer - Machinery, Equipment, Hydraulics   You'll be working on a number of projects at any one time (2-3), at different stages with different engineering challenges.   Your main duties will include: · Detailed mechanical design of new products from cradle to grave · Re-engineering existing products to enhance design, manufacturing efficiency, durability, cost down and weight etc · Prototype testing · Internal stakeholder management with production   YOUR BACKGROUND: Mechanical Design Engineer - Machinery, Equipment, Hydraulics   You'll be an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer educated to likely an HND or B.ENG in Mechanical Engineering.     You will also have experience of some or all the following: · Running design projects from concept through to completion · Competent using SolidWorks (you will have a practical test at interview stage) · Worked closely with production and test (DfMA) · Handled your own material selection to include stainless steel, aluminum and mild steel   THE COMPANY:   A privately owned, UK multi-site manufacturer.
