We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join a growing, engineering SME. The company specializes in low batch projects that are supplied into specialist sectors. As Mechanical Engineer, you will have the chance to work on a range of projects across design, development, and quality. This role is stacked with variety and offers a real chance to gain experience across a range of disciplines.

Salary & Hours: c£35,000 to £40,000 as a guide. Days based role 8:00am to 4:30pm Mon Thurs, and a 8:00am 1:00pm finish on a Friday. Overtime paid at x1.5 on any hours after basic 37 hours per week.

This Mechanical Engineer job will suit:

• Proven experience within a mechanical engineering position, preferably within an SME (not essential, but we need someone who can be flexible to work across several areas when required).
• Design / Development experience of engineering systems / machinery. The equipment manufactured are often electro-mechanical in nature.
• Hold a formal engineering qualification.
• Have an inquisitive mindset and passion for engineering. A problem solver who can find engineering solutions to proposed designs.

The Mechanical Engineer job will involve:

• Supporting with the mechanical design of both new and existing products.
• Creating BOMs / Bill of Materials.
• Product Development activities from both a technical input, but whilst also accounting for the practicilities e.g life cycle, cost etc.
• CE marking and compliance / quality related activities.
• Working closely with manufacturing, acknowledging production processes and how this may affect designs (DFM / Design for Manufacturing).

This job is commutable from Nottingham, Beeston, Long Eaton.
