An exciting opportunity for an individual to join as a permanent member of the Boots Opticians Finance team as a Senior Finance Analyst.

This role plays an integral part of the team by working closely with the retail finance manager and business partnering senior leaders within the retail leadership team.

By understanding the wider-business operations and building relationships with multiple senior stakeholders, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role through owning the monthly forecasting and annual budgeting process. They will also provide insights on business performance and perform decision making analysis to support the future growth of Boots Opticians.

About the role

  • Responsible for annual budget setting, monthly forecasting, monthly variance analysis for key cost areas such as Store Payroll, Operations, and Store Bonus.
  • Support the Retail Director and their team to understand performance and help inform future decisions.
  • Perform analysis to help drive insight and inform decisions (Recent examples include: Modelling of store bonus incentives, analysis of store performance based on location, store type or affluence, and many more).
  • Responsible for collaborating with the Retail team to establish fair and accurate store budgets each quarter.
  • Support the development of our management information / reporting.
  • Scope to support the continuous improvement project within Boots Opticians finance team.
  • Potential for team supervision and development support.

What you’ll need to have

  • Part-qualified or newly qualified (ACCA, CIMA etc.) accountant.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with senior finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Ability to proactively manage workload in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and excel skills.

It would be great if you also have

  • Experience of SAP and Business Objects advantageous.
