About the RoleService Care Solutions is currently seeking Band 5 Nurses for a trial period within the NHS in the East Midlands region. This unique role involves working to support temporary escalation spaces in acute hospitals. The position is critical to ensuring safe and effective patient care for adult patients transported via ambulance who are awaiting transfer into hospital arrivals or assessments. Key Details:

  • Staffing will support a 16-patient cohort.
  • Shifts are designed to run 0700-2300 or 24x7, 7 days a week.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Mobilising patients and assisting with toileting/elimination needs (~10 minutes/patient).
  • Supporting patients with fluid and nutrition requirements (~3 minutes/patient).
  • Conducting patient observations and visual assessments (~10 minutes/patient).

These duties mirror in-patient nursing care requirements such as personal care, monitoring patient conditions, and conducting essential assessments. Patients will already be assessed by ambulance crews and have hospital clinical oversight. Required Training (Provided Before Starting):

  • NEWS 2 Assessment
  • Physical Observations
  • Pressure Area Risk Assessment
  • Manual Handling
  • Understanding SOP and Role Clarity
  • Orientation to the ED Department
