The Role:

We are looking for a motivated Design & Technology Technician to support in the classroom with arranging material for students usage at KS3 and KS4 levels. In this Temp to Perm role, you will be responsible for Support in Practical Sessions, equipment maintenance, material management, technical support and maintaining health and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support with the planning and preparation of Design & Technology lessons that cater to the abilities of all students.
  • Regularly maintain, repair, and inspect tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working order.
  • Manage the inventory of materials and supplies, including ordering new items as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, inventory, and health and safety inspections.
  • Support students in their projects, offering guidance and troubleshooting help.

Minimum Requirements:

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following minimum criteria:

  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a secondary school or similar environment working as a Technician.
  • Training: in CAD Software and experience in creating digital designs.
  • Skills:
    • proficiency in using and maintaining a wide range of workshop tools and equipment,
    • knowledge of woodworking, metalworking and other relevant fabrication techniques

Location:

This role is based in Nottingham, within a well-established secondary school. The school is easily accessible by public transport and offers a supportive working environment.
