Kenton Black are working with an established, friendly financial firm in the Nottingham area seeking to appoint a Bookkeeper/Payroll Assistant to join their team undertaking accounts/bookkeeping inc VAT and payroll processing duties. This Hybrid role requires the successful candidate to have strong bookkeeping skills with knowledge of VAT returns to undertake monthly bookkeeping via Xero, general accounts duties and full end to end payroll processing weekly/fortnightly/monthly. The successful candidate will ideally possess a good knowledge of Xero and experience of payroll processing, dealing with HMRC, auto enrolment pensions, CIS, bookkeeping, preparing VAT returns in a similar role within ideally an accountancy environment. This role offers autonomy for an experienced individual seeking to join a friendly office environment.

Your New Role As Payroll Assistant/Bookkeeper:

You will be responsible for bookkeeping duties for a variety of clients and in addition be able to prepare VAT returns, accounts with full end to end payroll duties with previous experience of working within a similar role within accountancy bureau practice using Xero. You will be be passionate about providing a great client service and be able to hit the ground running.

Day to Day Duties :

Full end to end payroll duties via Payroll Manager (software training provided)
Bookkeeping/Accounts duties on a monthly via Xero
VAT preparation for quarterly returns
Client liaison via email and telephone
Dealing with HMRC
CIS (training provided)
Auto enrolment/pensions
Starters/leavers, P45/P46/P60's
SMP/SSP

Experience & Qualifications Required To Apply:

Ideally you will have c 2yrs+ previous bookkeeping and payroll processing experience within accountancy
Xero software experience
Strong client liaison skills
