  • Payroll Administrator (Sage 50 Payroll & HR)

    Location: NG17 9LE

    Purpose:

    We are a busy Construction and Transport business seeking a Payroll Administrator to manage our payroll using Sage on a weekly basis. The successful candidate will ensure timely and accurate recording of hours, overtime, and compliance with UK payroll regulations and statutory requirements.

    Key Responsibilities:

    - Collect and input data accurately using Sage HR and Payroll systems 

    - Update pay rates, holidays, bonuses, and all payroll elements 

    - Process employee files and maintain internal systems throughout the employee lifecycle 

    - Ensure employee right to work checks are up to date 

    - Update P11Ds and employee tax codes 

    - Maintain pension records using our Nest Pension account 

    - Run multiple weekly payrolls using Sage 50 Payroll 

    - Handle calls from employees and management, addressing payroll queries 

    - Undertake any other reasonable tasks as required by the business 

    Skills and Knowledge:

    - Attention to detail  

    - 3+ years experience using Sage 50 Payroll and Sage HR systems  

    - Strong organisational skills to manage multiple payrolls and employee updates  

    - Knowledge of UK payroll regulations, including PAYE, National Insurance, pensions, and statutory deductions  

    - Understanding of UK employment laws  

    - Familiarity with payroll elements such as pay rates, holidays, bonuses, and statutory payments  

    - Knowledge of tax codes  

    - Excellent communication skills  

    - Strong problem-solving ability  

    - Uphold confidentiality in handling sensitive payroll and employee data  

    - 3+ years payroll administration experience  

    - Experience managing pensions and compliance checks  

    Hours:

    Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (including a 30-minute unpaid lunch)

    Holidays:

    21 days plus 8 bank holidays
