TeacherActive are looking for a Contruction Tutor to work in a specialist SEMH alternative provision in Nottingham.

(Either full or part time, minimum of three days- we can be flexible for the right candidate).

Desirable Attributes:

-Have an ability to teach construction.

-Have experience working with young people.

-Be highly organised with excellent communication skills.

-Have an interest in supporting young people with a variety of additional needs

-Have experience supporting children with additional needs (desirable not essential)

-Have an understanding of behavioural management

Basic Role Description

-Teaching Basic Skills in an SEMH provision to pupils of varying abilities

-Supporting children during lessons/school activities

-Supporting staff/children during lunch and break times

-Managing pupils personalised learning based on their individual need.

-Delivering 1:1 or small group activities

-Collecting evidence of children’s work to support their assessment

-Providing physical management and care of pupils

The setting supports young people in KS3 & 4 who have been permanently excluded or are on the verge of permanent exclusion from mainstream schools. The aim is to either re integrate these young people back into mainstream schools/post 16 education/ apprenticeships or training through personalised education plans.
