TeacherActive are looking for a Mechanics Tutor to work in a specialist SEMH alternative provision in Nottingham.

The provision are looking for someone to deliver there IMI qualification in Automotive Vehicle Maintenance and welcome applications from anyone who has delivered this or equivalent to a level 1 or above. They also require candidates to have experience of working with children and young people with challenging behaviour. There is a fully equipped workshop in the provision. Qualified teacher status is not essential. The provision can provide a training package to support staff who join CVP.

 

Basic Role Description

-Teaching Basic Skills in an SEMH provision to pupils of varying abilities

-Supporting children during lessons/school activities

-Supporting staff/children during lunch and break times

-Managing pupils personalised learning based on their individual need.

-Delivering 1:1 or small group activities

-Collecting evidence of children’s work to support their assessment

-Providing physical management and care of pupils

The setting supports young people in KS3 & 4 who have been permanently excluded or are on the verge of permanent exclusion from mainstream schools. The aim is to either re integrate these young people back into mainstream schools/post 16 education/ apprenticeships or training through personalised education plans.
