The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a Lighting Technician to join a leading facilities management provider, delivering high-quality planned maintenance and emergency repair work across supermarket stores. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to work within a dynamic team and contribute to maintaining high standards of lighting efficiency and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct planned maintenance repairs on store lighting systems, ensuring compliance with company and health & safety standards.
Develop and maintain professional relationships with supermarket colleagues and internal teams.
Complete PPM schedules within agreed timelines and ensure all documentation is accurately completed.
Respond promptly to service call requests, assessing and executing necessary repairs efficiently.
Prioritise maintenance tasks to meet agreed response times.
Order necessary parts and equipment, following company procedures.
Manage the hiring and use of plant and equipment as required.
Identify non-repairable lighting faults and provide recommendations for replacements.
Report any maintenance issues affecting store operations to the appropriate contacts.
Support other lighting technicians as required and collaborate with the wider facilities team.
Supervise and guide Lighting Mates, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
Stay updated with training and industry developments to maintain competency.
Requirements
Essential:
Recognised electrical qualification.
18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
Experience in lighting maintenance and repair, including various lighting types (e.g., filament, fluorescent, mercury vapour, sodium, low voltage, car park lighting).
Proficiency in using steps, ladders, and high-access equipment.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Customer-focused and self-motivated with a proactive attitude.
Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
IPAF 1b, 3a, and 3b certification.
Previous experience working within retail environments.
Additional Information
This role requires flexibility, with occasional overnight stays and potential night shifts.
