Managing Pharmacist - Private Hospital

Ackerman Pierce are looking for aManaging Pharmacist to provide a first class clinical pharmacy service to the department.

You will play an essential role in ensuring medicines optimisation; safe, appropriate, accurate and cost-effective services to ensure patients receive their medication in a timely, professional and efficient manner with all the necessary practical and clinical information.

Pharmacy Manager required on a locum basis. Must be able to cover on - call. CCU course preferable

Salary: £47/h

This role provides a unique opportunity for flexible shift patterns, great pay rates, access to weekly pay and the ability to work in various clinical settings and departments. You will be able to build or develop on your existent skills and be able to try work at several different departments!

What you'll need as a Managing Pharmacist - Private Hospital:

  • Experience as a Managing Pharmacist
  • Abide by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) standards of conduct, ethics and performance as well as standards for registered pharmacies, observing and applying all professional, ethical and legal obligation
  • Provide a comprehensive and patient centered clinical pharmacy service to patients at the Hospital in accordance with the hospital's objectives in order to ensure safe, clinically effective and cost efficient use of drugs.
  • To act as a specialist pharmacist and provide a patient focused clinical pharmacy ward service to the ward
  • Ensure safe management of oncology electronic prescribing system and appropriate management of introduction of new medicines
  • To communicate information relating to medicines management within the setting to clinical colleagues, nurses, independent prescribers, carers and patients.

What you will bring:

  • Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy
  • Member of General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy
  • Broad clinical pharmacy background including ward-based work
  • Recent and significant experience of UK aseptic services, oncology and chemotherapy services.
  • Experience of initiating, leading and developing services
  • Membership of the British Cancer Services Pharmacy Association
  • SACT knowledge acquired working as a cancer pharmacist
