Hays Education are looking for a School Science Technician to join a large Secondary School in Nottingham. The role is to start as soon as possible and is initially presented as a long-term temporary role with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. Your new role

  • Preparing and setting up laboratory equipment and materials ahead of science lessons
  • Ensuring the safe and proper use of laboratory equipment and chemicals
  • Adhering to health and safety regulations and promoting a safe learning environment
  • Supporting students in their practical work and experiments
  • Organising and maintaining the laboratories and prep rooms

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience of working in a school or educational environment is essential
  • Knowledge and understanding of laboratory health & safety issues
  • Knowledge and understanding of the three sciences
  • Strong communication skills
  • Effective organisational and time management skills
