Manual Machinist

Paying up to 16 per hour

Day shifts: Monday - Friday

PERMANENT ROLE

Our client in Nottingham is looking for a Manual Machinist specialising in manual grinding to join their team on a permanent basis. Our client manufactures products for a variety of industries including aerospace and oil and gas.

Job Description:

  • This role covers both new products and existing parts from one offs to small batches.
  • To set and operate Grinder & Lathe machines with information from technical drawings
  • To work to tight tolerances and check own work ensuring it meets quality and technical standards
  • To work with minimum supervision and efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and organized working environment and carry out any routine machine maintenance as required.

The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • Candidate will ideally come from a manual grinding, milling or turning background
  • Must be able to read and work from technical drawings
  • A minimum of three years' experience within a machine shop role
  • Apprentice trained would be advantageous but not essential
  • Able to quality check own work
  • Confident working with a variety of metals including mild, stainless steel and aluminium
