Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking an experienced and dynamic Category Manager to join the Procurement Team, focusing on the corporate category area.

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust are one of the largest teaching Trusts in England and has an award-winning procurement team! The Procurement and Supply Chain Team consists of over 90 team members, which allows the function to provide a first-class service.

As a Category Manager you will play a pivotal role in full end-to-end procurement, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and best value outcomes for the Trust.

As a Category Manager you will be expected to work under your own initiative, supporting the Senior Category Managers with the negotiation and completion of complex contracts, whilst identifying best practice.

Responsibilities

  • Run complex PA23 procurements, managing multiple senior stakeholders whilst reporting and presenting your findings to stakeholders
  • Support Senior Category Managers with the negotiation and completion of complex/complicated contracts
  • Lead on large procurement activities, delivering savings and demonstrating change management and stakeholder management skills
  • Ensure contract compliance across NUH, pursuing procurement excellence through implementation of efficient and effective procurement projects
  • Delivery of a savings target through procurement activities

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in end-to-end procurement and category management
  • Strong Excel skills (including producing Pivot tables)
  • Track record of successfully managing high-value and highly complex tenders
  • Comprehensive knowledge of public procurement regulations
