This is an outstanding opportunity for an accomplished Procurement Assistant to join the team of a specialist construction company and assist in the development of its' supply chain and the ongoing management and support of their clients.

As the Procurement Assistant you key rseponsibilities will be ;-

  • Raise and approve Purchase Orders through the Sage Accounts Portal, enter Goods Received Notes on the system, follow up materials not received and liaise with site contacts. Save GRN’s/Delivery Notes into Monday/Sharepoint in the correct folders.
  • Run daily and weekly reports on procurement activity and work alongside colleagues to minimise discrepancies. Contact suppliers regarding any shortages and incorrect deliveries. Liaise with requisition owner to problem solve if necessary.
  • Minimise stock levels internally and utilise suppliers facilities for a "just in time delivery service"
  • Assist Procurement manager to expand suppliers list to give more accessible national coverage. Minimise our reliance and the strain on small pool of suppliers.
  • Process requisitions from sites and report deficiencies to the Operations Team lead.
  • Fully priced POs to be issued to all suppliers of goods and services via Sage System.
  • Build successful working relationships with operatives at all levels throughout the business.
  • Prioritisation of workload to ensure site deadlines are met.
  • On the look-out for new materials/products entering the market which may be of benefit technically and financially to the business.
  • Order office supplies, stamps, uniform and tools as required ensuring best value at all times.
  • Prepare PMS Folders for site operatives, and deconstruct and file accordingly once returned from site.
  • Complete hotel/travel bookings on behalf of Operatives and ensure that these are within budget
  • Work alongside the wider Finance Team to facilitate timely orders and deliveries, within budget.

You will have at least 2 years working in a procurement environment and be keen to learn more abouut procurement methodologies and perhaps look to undertake your CIPS qualifications for which support will be provided.

Strong IT skils are essential as is the ability to absorb technical product information.
