A globally operating precision engineering company are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join their team and production facility in Nottingham. Â Experience with precision products in materials such as rubber, metal and plastics would be highly advantageous. Â
As a Senior Buyer you will work with the Global Procurement Manager for a specific sector in the company and complete day-to-day tasks of managing suppliers and incoming products, monitoring supplier performance, and identifying and cultivating new potential suppliers.

- Salary of c£50k (dependent on experience) Â
- Annual Bonus Scheme (up to 8%)
- Hybrid working - 50/50 office to home and flex time on start time in office

Key responsibilities of Senior Buyer
- Lead supplier identification, development, negotiations, cost analysis and selection in support of long-term business needs.
- Assist in the development and implementation of category strategies.
- Interface with key internal departments to ensure functional alignment with new product development and business growth needs.
- Raise purchase orders in support new product development projects as required to support the overall development and growth strategies.
- Lead the assessment of risk in the supply chain, ensuring business continuity though the development of appropriate mitigation plans.
- Collects market intelligence and develop profiles for key suppliers.
Qualifications and skills required of Senior Buyer:
- Ideally Degree qualified in similar field, or further relevant qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in a Supply Chain / Purchasing role with metal, rubber or plastics etc
- Strong negotiations, interpersonal and communications skills
- Experienced in analysing complex pricing proposals and compiling a strategic plan
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
