Macildowie Recruitment & Retention - Supply Chain & ProcurementSenior Category Buyer - Up to £55,000 Per Annum - NottinghamMonday - Friday, 9am - 5:30pm - Hybrid Working AvailableMacildowie Supply Chain & Procurement is delighted to have exclusively partnered with a reputable and well-established wholesale brand in Nottingham to recruit a Senior Category Buyer.The key objective is to build and maintain new and existing supplier relationships, sourcing raw materials overseas, whilst ensuring profitability and category growth in your commodities. Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure the best terms, pricing, and product availability for your category.
  • Negotiate trading agreements, joint business plans and pricing with suppliers to maximise sales, profitability commercial income and stock availability.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing.
  • Benchmark, monitor and audit suppliers on price, quality, delivery and capability criteria.
  • Source raw materials and services to either replace or as a benchmarking tool to seek out cost saving opportunities.
  • Engage, manage and influence senior stakeholders to ensure buy-in, utilising strong market knowledge.
  • Negotiate and agree Framework Agreements; Rebate Agreements and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with Key Suppliers and valuate existing contracts to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Work closely with suppliers to introduce new products and manage the end-to-end product lifecycle, from introduction to discontinuation, whilst ensuring accurate data and timely updates.
  • Review sales and stock reports, taking prompt and appropriate actions to optimise performance and meet targets.
  • Support the supply chain team to forecast demand, efficient stock replenishment, identify slow and obsolete and to take corrective action to minimise impact on profitability.

The Candidate

  • Previous experience working as a Senior Buyer, Senior Category Manager, Category Manager Senior Procurement Lead, Buyer or equivalent.
  • Able to travel to Nottingham.
  • Proficient user of Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Comfortable building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to negotiation with suppliers.
  • Overseas sourcing experience.
  • Exposure to SAP - Desirable
  • Retail / FMCG procurement background Desirable
