Linsco are seeking an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to support a new build housing company on a retirement village development. This will conclude of 77 flats. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a dynamic residential project, overseeing cost control, procurement, and commercial management.

You will be required Monday to Friday and will be based on site in Nottingham. The position itself is temporary but will be for at least 12 months as the project is due to complete in June 2026.

My client are looking to conduct interviews over the coming week.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all cost and commercial aspects of the project, ensuring financial efficiency.
  • Oversee procurement and subcontractor management, negotiating contracts and ensuring best value.
  • Prepare and manage valuations, variations, and final accounts.
  • Conduct cost reporting and forecasting, providing regular updates to senior management.
  • Ensure projects remain within budget and financial targets.
  • Work closely with site teams, project managers, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Monitor risk and value management, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms and industry regulations.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in new build housing and apartment projects.
  • Excellent negotiation and financial management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple project elements.
  • Proficiency in cost reporting software and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
