Quantity Surveyor | Hybrid | Up to £60,000 | Nottingham
Situation:
Join a leading UK railway contractor as a Quantity Surveyor in Nottingham. With a UK-wide presence, the company is known for delivering high-quality, time-efficient solutions across a variety of civil engineering projects. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a well-established Rail Business and work on fast-paced, reactive projects. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:
- Preparation of cost estimates for small-scale civil engineering projects.
- Analyse and assess subcontractor quotations to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver profitable project proposals.
- Act as the point of contact with clients and contractors, offering site support when needed.

Working Hours:
- Hybrid Working: split time between office, site visits, and remote work as required.
- Monday to Thursday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.
- Main office based in Nottingham/Sites based mainly around the Midlands
Candidate Essentials:
- Proven experience in a fast-paced and reactive estimating or quantity surveying environment (Essential)
- Willingness to learn and attend site to liaise with contractors/team and clients – acting as the Site Manager if required (Essential)
- Ability to be hands on within a project/on site – splitting time between the office/the site and home (Essential)
- Experience in Rail or Construction Engineering (Essential)
Qualifications:
- Appropriate degree or equivalent in a relevant subject (Desirable).
