Job Title: Quantity Surveyor - Structural Steel Division
Location: Based from home with site visits 3/4 times a week

Our client offer steel and pipe fabrication, mechanical services, and advanced NDT testing. Our 2,200m workshop, equipped with high-capacity cranes and extensive storage, handles large-scale projects with ease. Carbon and Stainless Steel facilities serve the oil, gas, water, and process sectors.
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in structural steel to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the financial management of our steelwork projects, ensuring cost control, procurement, and commercial administration are effectively managed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all commercial aspects of structural steel projects from inception to completion.
- Prepare and manage bills of quantities, cost estimates, and tender documents.
- Conduct cost analysis, feasibility studies, and risk assessments.
- Procure subcontractors, suppliers, and materials, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
- Administer contracts and manage change orders/variations.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and project teams to ensure smooth financial and contractual management.
- Assess, certify, and process interim valuations and final accounts.
- Monitor project budgets and cash flow, ensuring cost efficiency.
- Prepare and present detailed commercial reports.
- Handle dispute resolution and claims management, ensuring compliance with contractual terms.
- Work closely with site teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and forecasting.
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor
- Extensive knowledge of structural steelwork is essential.
- Strong understanding of contract forms, including JCT, NEC, and bespoke contracts.
- Experience in cost control, tendering, and contract administration.
- Proficient in estimating and commercial reporting tools/software.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Chartered status (MRICS/CICES) is desirable but not essential.
