Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Property Manager with a strong focus on compliance to join their small, proactive team. This role requires in-depth knowledge of UK property legislation, health and safety standards and best practices for ensuring properties are compliant with all relevant regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of properties, overseeing maintenance, tenant relations and ensuring all properties meet compliance standards.

  • £26,000 - £28,000 per annum
  • Mon - Fri - 8.30am - 5.00pm or 9.00am - 5.30pm
  • NG1 - with parking!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all properties within the portfolio comply with current UK legislation, including but not limited to the Landlord and Tenant Act, Health and Safety regulations, Electrical Safety Standards, Fire Safety, Gas Safety and Energy Performance requirements.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to ensure adherence to compliance standards and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Stay up-to-date with legislative changes and implement policies to maintain compliance across the property portfolio.
  • Oversee risk assessments, fire safety checks, and compliance with statutory inspections
  • Coordinate and oversee regular maintenance and repairs, ensuring service providers comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain an approved list of suppliers and contractors who adhere to compliance standards.
  • Work closely with contractors to ensure that all work is carried out to the highest standard and within compliance guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of all compliance-related documents, including certificates, inspection reports, risk assessments and regulatory documentation.
  • Prepare and submit compliance reports to management, landlords, and relevant authorities as required.
  • Ensure that property files are regularly updated with compliance certifications, licenses and permits.
  • Act as a primary contact for tenants
  • Conduct property handovers, move-in inspections, and ensure tenants understand their responsibilities regarding property care and compliance.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • 1+ years of experience in property management with a focus on compliance in the UK market.
  • Strong background in regulatory compliance, health and safety and statutory property obligations.
  • Strong organisational skills, with meticulous attention to detail for managing documentation and compliance records.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with tenants, landlords, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Proficiency in property management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects, often under tight deadlines.
