Are you passionate about food innovation and looking for your next challenge in New Product Development? Our client seeking an enthusiastic NPD Technologist to join a dynamic team, playing a key role in the development and launch of innovative new products.

To be considered for the role, you’ll require the following essentials:

  • Previous experience in food manufacturing and product development
  • Strong knowledge of food science, nutrition, and NPD processes
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets)
  • A hands-on, proactive approach with a can-do attitude
  • 3+ years of experience in an NPD role, either in branded or own-label products
  • Experience as a Junior Developer or Technologist looking to take the next step in their career

Within this position, you’ll also be:

  • Conducting market research to identify trends, customer preferences, and competitor insights to drive product development
  • Collaborating with third-party manufacturers to ensure best-in-market innovation and quality
  • Working closely with marketing, procurement, and production teams to facilitate successful product launches
  • Assisting in the formulation of new product recipes, balancing ingredient functionality, cost, and nutritional requirements
  • Conducting product testing, including sensory analysis, shelf-life evaluation, and nutritional assessments
  • Maintaining accurate product specifications, costings, and supporting documentation
  • Assisting in product trials with both internal teams and external suppliers or manufacturers
  • Staying up to date with industry trends, new ingredients, and emerging technologies to enhance product development
  • Troubleshooting technical challenges that arise during the development process
  • Supporting post-launch production and conducting follow-up reviews
  • Developing packaging and design briefs
  • Attending and facilitating photo shoots
  • Contributing content for social media and communication channels

Salary & Working Hours

Salary is £30,000 - £35,000 per annum, dependant on experience
