We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate History Teacher to join our vibrant team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach History to KS3, KS4, and possibly KS5 students, following the national curriculum.
  • Deliver engaging and interactive history lessons that make the subject accessible and exciting for students of all abilities.
  • Support students in their academic progress, providing constructive feedback and tailored guidance.
  • Prepare students for GCSE History exams and other relevant assessments.
  • Encourage critical thinking, historical inquiry, and the development of analytical skills.
  • Promote an understanding of global history, including British and world history, through diverse teaching methods.
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to ensure the success of the History department.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and school events that promote a deeper understanding of history.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in History, History Education, or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching History at secondary school level (preferably KS3 and KS4).
  • Strong understanding of the GCSE History curriculum and exam specifications.
  • A passion for history and an ability to inspire students with diverse learning styles.
  • Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Desirable:

  • Experience teaching A-Level History or other advanced qualifications.
  • Specialisms in modern history, world history, or a specific historical period.
  • Involvement in history clubs or educational trips related to history.
  • Familiarity with the latest teaching methods and educational technologies to enhance learning.
