Are you looking for a new & rewarding position? Do you have experience in teaching or tutoring maths?

Long Term Futures are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, creative Mathematics Tutor to work alongside a dedicated team in an Alternative Provision. The setting offers a mix of vocational and academic programmes tailored to the diverse needs of students. The successful candidate will be working closely with a range of students, tutoring mathematics whilst supporting their social, emotional and physical wellbeing.

  • Mainly 1:1 tutoring or very small groups of students.
  • A small, close knit school community.
  • An education setting with a real focus on the wellbeing of students.

Key responsibilities:

  • Tutor mathematics to students in an alternative provision on a 1-1 and small group basis.
  • Differentiate the learning experience to meet the diverse needs of students with SEN and challenging behaviours.
  • Assess pupil progress appropriately dependent upon where pupils are at now and where they need to be.
  • Engage in the whole school ethos.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff and other professionals to give the students the very best educational offer.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a relevant degree/qualification in Mathematics.
  • Experience of working with students with learning, challenging, emotional or behavioural difficulties.
  • Excellent subject knowledge.
  • Previous experience in teaching/tutoring mathematics.
