Duties of a Field Service Engineer :
- Assess client equipment on-site to determine condition and functionality, diagnosing issues and performing repairs to optimise performance.
- Independently handle field-based work across various client locations and environments.
- Conduct both reactive and proactive maintenance to minimise downtime and boost reliability.
- Recommend improvements to client procedures for enhanced efficiency.
- Promote company products and identify opportunities to meet client needs.
- Apply technical expertise to deliver high-quality service and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintain professionalism, document work accurately, and report findings to clients and the service team.
Skills and experience required of a Field Service Engineer:
- 5+ years in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and plant applications.
- Expertise in conveyor belt and sortation systems (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic components), fault-finding, troubleshooting, PLC programming, and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Engineering degree or technical certification (electrical/mechanical), ECS and IPAF cards, and a valid driver's license.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations; experience in safe, clean work environments.
- Methodical, organised, self-motivated, effective under pressure, with professional communication skills.
This role provides a company vehicle, an expenses card, and mobile electronic devices. When not working in the field, you will be expected to be on-site in Nottinghamshire.
