A fantastic school in Nottingham with modern, well-equipped, and technologically advanced facilities is seeking two Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). These positions are Monday to Friday, term-time only, with an immediate start.

As an LSA, your primary role will be to assist in teaching and learning across the curriculum, with a focus on supporting students with SEN. The successful candidates will help ensure that students can participate fully in learning activities. Responsibilities include implementing specific programmes and activities that complement the work of teachers, as well as assisting in students' personal, social, and emotional development and fostering self-esteem through targeted intervention programmes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing learning support to students in small groups or one-on-one
  • Creating or adapting resources based on guidance and suggestions
  • Identifying and reporting any unusual student behaviour patterns to the teacher
  • Maintaining an inclusive learning environment throughout the school
  • Supporting individual students or groups during independent or group work
  • Applying specialist knowledge, experience, and training to provide appropriate support to students

The ideal candidate will have:

  • GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C or above) and NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualifications, experience, or skills
  • Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs
  • Knowledge of SEN as outlined in the SEN Code of Practice
  • A commitment to upholding and promoting high standards across all areas of work
  • Professionalism and personal integrity, with strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships at all levels
