Learning Support Assistant
Location: Nottingham, NG12
Pay Rate: 90-105 per day
Contract Type: Long-term to permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Start Date: As soon as possible
Long Term Futures are currently looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist educational setting in the NG12 area of Nottingham. This unique role involves working in an education setting that supports young people aged 7-18 with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). The setting provides an enriching outdoor learning environment, including woodland and farm-based activities.
Role Overview:
- Offer personalised academic and emotional support to students facing barriers to learning
- Build trusting relationships that encourage students to develop resilience, confidence and emotional regulation
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside teachers, therapists and pastoral staff
- Help deliver tailored learning plans suited to individual student needs
- Apply a therapeutic mindset in all aspects of student interaction and support
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with complex behavioural and emotional needs
- A compassionate, patient and understanding approach
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities
- Confidence in your ability to manage challenging behaviours
