Long Term Futures are currently looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist educational setting in the NG12 area of Nottingham. This unique role involves working in an education setting that supports young people aged 7-18 with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). The setting provides an enriching outdoor learning environment, including woodland and farm-based activities.

Role Overview:

  • Offer personalised academic and emotional support to students facing barriers to learning
  • Build trusting relationships that encourage students to develop resilience, confidence and emotional regulation
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside teachers, therapists and pastoral staff
  • Help deliver tailored learning plans suited to individual student needs
  • Apply a therapeutic mindset in all aspects of student interaction and support

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with complex behavioural and emotional needs
  • A compassionate, patient and understanding approach
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities
  • Confidence in your ability to manage challenging behaviours
