Snapper Recruitment are recruiting for a Service Manager / Buddy Lead behalf of our client based in Nottingham.The candidate will manage our Services at HMP Lowdham Grange in Nottinghamshire. They will services being implemented within the prison including the introduction of our Buddy Peer Support Programme and provision of an Activity Hub providing bespoke well-being support and meaningful activity for the older population (those aged over 50).The post is dual in function, the role of Service Manager, taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Team (currently 1 member of staff) at Lowdham Grange whilst managing the delivery of our Buddy Programme, which trains prisoners, to National Care Standards adapted for use in prison, to support other prisoners with Health & Social care needs.

This is a full-time, permanent role (37.5 hrs) / week at £29,172 annumMain Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports direct reports in developing a positive culture within and across the cluster.
  • Set a clear vision, based on business and development plans, communicating business and contract imperatives appropriately and in a timely way.
  • Builds and maintains a dynamic, energised team, ensuring positive health and well-being.
  • Provide person-centred activities that reflect individual rights and preferences.
  • Maintain meticulous records and share data responsibly.
  • Engage with the wider team, other prison departments and external stakeholders.
  • Promote a positive work ethic and team culture, participating in relevant meetings and continuous professional development.
  • Contribute to innovative service development.
  • Advocate for the company's service growth and business development.
  • Provide regular progress reports and maintain knowledge of relevant policies.
  • Collect monitoring information and deliver reports.
  • Adhere to safety and risk requirements and ensure safeguarding responsibilities are met

Person Specification

  • Ability to build effective relationships and experience of working with older people, people in Criminal justice, or social care settings.
  • Experience of delivering services for older people, writing reports, letters, and other correspondence.
  • High level of IT literacy and a willingness to learn and use prison and company IT systems.
  • Strong motivational skills and working with people with basic skills.
  • Knowledge of the voluntary sector.
  • Skilled in training/coaching/presenting.
  • Evidenced knowledge of the national and local offender management strategies.
  • Experience of supporting and motivating others.
