Overview

We are seeking a Health and Safety (H&S) Advisor with a construction bias to join our team and support our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. As an H&S Advisor, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining relationships with construction teams across the East Midlands region, promoting a positive safety culture and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations specific to the area.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend control measures, with a focus on construction-specific risks in the East Midlands region.
  • Perform site inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and best practices, tailored to the construction industry.
  • Develop and deliver H&S training programs tailored to construction activities in the East Midlands to help educate employees on safe work practices specific to the region.
  • Investigate construction-related accidents or near-miss incidents within the East Midlands region and collaborate with management to implement corrective actions.
  • Provide expert advice on construction-specific H&S policies, procedures, and relevant legislation to ensure compliance with regional regulations in the East Midlands.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in the construction industry within the East Midlands to promote a proactive approach to health and safety in the workplace specific to the region.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in conducting construction-specific risk assessments and site inspections within a similar role, specifically within the East Midlands region.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with construction workers at all levels.
  • Relevant certification or qualifications in construction health and safety management, such as NEBOSH certification with a construction bias.
  • Ability to analyze data and provide recommendations for continuous improvement in H&S processes within the construction industry

Day-to-day

  • Performing on-site risk assessments and inspections with a focus on construction activities in the East Midlands region.
  • Collaborating with construction teams in the East Midlands to develop and deliver H&S training programs tailored to construction sites in the area.
  • Engaging with construction workers to promote a positive safety culture within the construction industry
  • Investigating and reporting on construction-related accidents or near-misses
  • Reviewing and updating H&S policies and procedures to align with legislation and best practices in the construction sector
