Anti-Social Behaviour Case Officer

We are seeking a dedicated Anti-Social Behaviour Case Officer to join our client's team. This role is crucial in managing a portfolio of cases related to Anti-Social Behaviour, Nuisance, and Environmental issues. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the safety and well-being of residents and visitors in Ashfield through effective case management from early intervention to prosecution or possession.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Own and manage cases relating to anti-social behaviour and domestic statutory nuisance reported directly or through referrals.
  • Investigate complaints thoroughly, following PACE standards to determine appropriate actions, including serving formal notices such as Injunctions and Community Protection Notices.
  • Collaborate with council service areas and partner agencies to develop joint responses to cases, including organising case conferences and attending multi-agency meetings.
  • Assess resident impact and vulnerability through ASB Risk Assessments and make necessary safeguarding referrals.
  • Maintain regular communication with victims, complainants, and alleged perpetrators, providing necessary advice and support.
  • Ensure effective recording of cases and performance activities using the Case Management System E-CINS and Officer Performance Spreadsheets.
  • Assist in developing processes and procedures to enhance service effectiveness.
  • Enter properties of poor condition when necessary, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and case law.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in managing anti-social behaviour and nuisance cases.
  • Strong understanding of the ASB, Crime and Policing Act, Housing Act, and Environment Protection Act.
  • Excellent investigative and evidence-gathering skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Competency in using IT systems for case management.
  • Knowledge of Data Protection Act 2018 and Crime and Disorder Act 1998.
