Description

As a Systems Engineer reporting to the IT Infrastructure & Security Manager, you'll be a key player in our IT infrastructure team. Your role is crucial in supporting and maintaining our network and server infrastructure, ensuring optimal uptime and compliance with IT policies.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive IT support across all locations, including Stores, Head Office, and Technical Centre, with 24/7 on-call service for critical issues.
  • Lead proactive maintenance, system monitoring, backups, and capacity planning for over 1,500 servers and 1,700 network devices in on-premises, cloud, and hosted environments.
  • Respond to incidents either directly or escalated from 2nd line support, managing operating systems, physical and virtual servers, and system security.
  • Collaborate closely with global IT teams and coordinate 2nd and 3rd line support as per ITIL standards, ensuring efficient incident resolution.
  • Interact with third-party vendors for software and hardware support, and maintain accurate documentation.

Daily tasks include:

  • Ensuring effective data retention and backup policies.
  • Overseeing system monitoring and endpoint security management.
  • Availability for out-of-hours activities as needed for critical IT support.
