Due to the desire for continued success, I have multiple amazing opportunities with my Global market leading client, where technology and innovation have seen the business grow year on year.

They have asked me to help build them a squad of Backend Software Engineers! This role is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to my clients innovative MACH-based platform which powers all their sites and mobile applications

The roles are offered on a hybrid basis, requiring you to work 3 days a week in their East Midlands office. Therefore, please only apply if you are able to do this or are happy to relocate (Must be in UK)

Key duties of the role as the Backend Software Engineer include:

  • Working and collaborating with diverse, cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deliver robust backend services.
  • Building microservices using TypeScript and Node.js
  • Design and maintain GraphQL and REST APIs for seamless integration.
  • Implement technical integrations with external systems such as headless CMS and e-commerce platforms.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of their CI/CD pipelines and fully embrace DevOps practices.
  • As well as working with current technologies, make sure you are looking into new/ emerging technologies and continue to bring creative and innovative ideas to the team.

Essential experience and skills needed as the Backend Software Engineer:

  • Proven commercial experience with TypeScript and Node.js.
  • Very good understanding of microservices architecture.
  • Solid background in GraphQL and REST APIs.
  • Great experience with both relational and non-relational databases (SQL and NoSQL databases)

Desirable Skills include:

  • Familiarity with Azure or other cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
  • Experience with event-driven architecture and messaging systems.
  • A DevOps mindset, including experience with CI/CD tools and container orchestration.
