About the Role:We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a fantastic primary school in NG5. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about working with SEND pupils and can provide tailored support to enhance their learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with ASD, ensuring their academic, social, and emotional needs are met.
  • Implement personalised learning strategies in line with the pupil's Individual Education Plan (IEP).
  • Foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist in managing behaviour, promoting focus and engagement in classroom activities.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to ensure consistency in support.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND, particularly those with ASD.
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
  • Proactive and adaptable, with the ability to respond to the pupil's evolving needs.
  • Strong understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder and strategies to support learning and development.
