Primary SEN Teacher (Temp-to-Perm)

Contract: Full-time, Temp-to-Perm
Start Date: January 2025 (earlier start available for settling in)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Primary SEN Teacher to join our specialist provision in Nottingham. This is a full-time, temp-to-perm position ideal for someone passionate about working with pupils who require additional support to achieve their full potential.

You will be part of a school that provides high-quality, tailored education to children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and associated conditions, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Sensory Processing Disorder, Attachment Needs, and mild to moderate learning difficulties.

About the Role

  • Class Sizes: No more than 6 pupils per class, supported by up to two teaching assistants.
  • Teaching Focus: Plan and deliver engaging and accessible lessons aligned with the national curriculum, while tailoring your teaching to meet the individual needs of your pupils.
  • Collaborative Environment: Work closely with your teaching team to create a nurturing and structured classroom environment.
  • Beyond the Classroom: Engage with pupils during extracurricular activities and school trips, promoting their social and emotional development.
  • Supportive Start: Join earlier to settle into the role and build relationships with staff and pupils before January 2025.


About You

We're looking for someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong educational background.
  • Has proven experience teaching primary-aged pupils, ideally in a specialist or SEN setting.
  • Demonstrates a deep understanding of SEMH needs and additional learning needs.
  • Possesses strong behaviour management skills and a calm, empathetic approach.
  • Is committed to professional development and embraces opportunities to grow.
  • Is willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check prior to starting work.
