About the Role: Due to continued growth, we are seeking a diligent and proactive Accounts & Tax Assistant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone AAT qualified (or nearly qualified) with a few years of practice experience. You will be responsible for processing personal, partnership, and trust tax returns efficiently and accurately. In this role, you will work closely with the Tax Manager and other team members to ensure timely and compliant tax filings for our diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and complete sole trader accounts, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Liaise with clients, staff members, and directors.
  • Track job progress and follow up on information requests.
  • Ensure significant correspondence is received and responses are obtained promptly.
  • Utilise various software programs, including Microsoft Office TaxCalc, FreeAgent, Xero, Hammock, and QuickBooks.
  • Work closely with sole trader clients, offering advice on their tax obligations and business performance.

About You:

  • AAT qualified or nearly qualified, with a few years of experience in practice.
  • Experience completing sole trader and partnership accounts from QuickBooks, FreeAgent, and Xero.
  • Keen to develop your accounts and tax expertise and build a rewarding career.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organisational skills.
  • Effective communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Proactive and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Comfortable using various software programs and willing to learn new systems.
