My client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Transport Planner to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in optimising transportation logistics, ensuring efficient movement of goods while maintaining high standards of customer service. This position requires strong organisational skills, computer literacy, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Monday- Friday 08:00am until 5:00pm
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement transport plans that meet customer requirements and optimise resource utilisation.
- Coordinate logistics operations, ensuring timely delivery of goods while adhering to safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs and provide exceptional service.
- Utilise IT systems and software, including Word and Outlook, for documentation and communication purposes.
- Monitor transport performance metrics and make recommendations for improvements.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations across the supply chain.
- Maintain accurate records of transport activities and prepare reports as required.
Requirements
- Proven experience in logistics or transport planning is desirable (haulage)
- Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Outlook.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong customer service skills, with a focus on building positive relationships.
- Proficient in English, both written and verbal, to communicate clearly with customers and colleagues.
- A valid driving licence is advantageous for site visits and operational assessments.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
