LTF has partnered with a secondary school in Derbyshire (NG10) to appoint a skilled academic mentor to provide 1-1 support to students. This role involves assisting KS3 & KS4 students across various subjects and supporting students working below expected levels. The school seeks an ambitious, self-motivated individual who can work independently with students to promote academic progress across a range of abilities.

Learning will take place mostly in school, but this role will require home tutoring students- Driving Licence & access to a car is essential (Fuel Expenses Covered).

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students in KS3 & KS4 across various subjects
  • Providing instruction to KS3 students who are not attending school, covering a range of subjects using the school's resources
  • Offering one-on-one tutoring to students outside the traditional classroom environment
  • Working with students who are unable to attend mainstream lessons due to anxiety or mental health challenges
  • Collaborating with subject teachers to develop effective strategies for student improvement

The schools are looking to appoint someone who:

  • Be a skilled tutor or educator with at least one year of experience
  • Have experience supporting students on a 1-1 basis or in small groups
  • Possess strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly
  • Be able to lead small group interventions and facilitate meaningful progress
